Job summary

GT’s Living Foods in Vernon, CA is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to service electric forklifts, pallet jacks and related warehouse equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs and documentation to ensure safe, reliable operation.

Responsibilities include inspecting batteries, tires and electrical components, testing performance, performing machine shop tasks, and adhering to GMP and OSHA requirements while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing electric forklifts (sit-down and stand-up reach) and/or pallet jacks.
• Basic knowledge of electronics, hydraulics and metal fabrication.
• Must possess own set of basic hand tools and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forklifts and pallet jacks in charging stations for issues regarding batteries, tires, safety lights, oil leaks, and broken electrical components
• Verify performance of warehouse equipment by conducting tests and adjusting controls/system
• Respond to requests for maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, pallet runners and floor scrubbers throughout our facilities
• Replace damaged electrical components, transformers, wiring, tires, bushings, bearings, shafts and hydraulic cylinders
• Perform machine shop duties such as cutting, welding, machining and other metal fabrication techniques
• Accurately document all work order repairs and preventative maintenance performed
• Operate/drive warehouse equipment as needed
• Adhere to all company SOPs, GMPs and OSHA safety requirements
