Overview

Denali Staffing Group is assisting one of our valued clients in recruiting a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Driver – Production. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily production operations by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of paper products throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Job Objective

The Forklift Driver – Production is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to move paper products to and from storage areas and production machines. This role supports continuous production operations by ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and removal of finished goods while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Essential Functions
  • Safely operate a forklift to transport paper products within the production and storage areas
  • Respond promptly to production operators' needs for raw materials and removal of finished goods
  • Report hazards, defective materials, and equipment issues to management immediately
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and production documentation
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard‑free work area and equipment
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines
  • Perform propane/gas tank changes and connect/disconnect forklift batteries as required
  • Sit for extended periods to operate a forklift (including driving in reverse) and stand/walk for a minimum of an 8‑hour shift
  • Continuously lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds
  • Work overtime as required to meet production demands
Duties and Responsibilities (not ranked by priority)
  • Operate forklifts safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced production environment
  • Ensure timely material handling to support production schedules
  • Perform routine janitorial and deep cleaning tasks as assigned
  • Keep all work areas clean, organized, and production‑ready at all times
  • Participate in special projects and assist with changing production needs
  • Demonstrate flexibility in response to customer and production schedule changes
  • Maintain professional and courteous behavior at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to learn and apply safe forklift operation and material handling practices
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions and training materials
  • Ability to accurately complete required paperwork
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for a full 8‑hour shift
  • Ability to continuously lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous forklift operator experience
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience in paper manufacturing
Physical Environment / Working Conditions

This position is based in a factory setting where temperature fluctuations occur throughout the year. Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye and hearing protection, and must remain alert and cautious around production equipment and forklifts.
