Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Certified Forklift Driver to support our manufacturing and production teams. This role involves operating industrial forklifts to move, load, and unload large-scale equipment, heavy materials, and modular buildings throughout the facility and production yard. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with oversized or irregular loads, understand weight distribution, and prioritize safety while working in fast-paced environments.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (including high-capacity and extended‑fork models) to transport large and heavy materials, equipment, and structures.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and flatbeds safely and efficiently.
- Move components such as steel frames, prefab sections, and modular units across production zones.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report maintenance issues.
- Secure and stabilize oversized loads for safe transport.
- Assist in staging materials for production and outbound shipping.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including OSHA and company guidelines.
- Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to support operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting, load limits, and load distribution.
Qualifications
- Valid forklift certification (must be current).
- Minimum 2–3 years of forklift experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven experience handling oversized, heavy, or sensitive materials.
- Experience with mobile equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts, or cranes.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop; ear plugs may be used as necessary.
