Job summary

VPET USA LLC in Garland, Texas, is seeking a Forklift Driver. This role is responsible for the safe operation of forklifts for various warehouse tasks including storage, shipping, and receiving operations.

Qualifications

Job Overview

In the Forklift Driver role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle to perform many tasks from storing, shipping, and receiving. This role supports the Warehouse Manager, Supervisor /and Production team.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for notifying the appropriate departments of any issues related to Warehouse, Shipping, Maintenance, Quality, etc.
  • Perform housekeeping duties at work center or as directed by the Lead and/or Manager, i.e., sweep work areas.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers.
  • Move, stack and stage product i.e., (boxes, preforms resin, trays).
  • Pick and pull orders, do receivings and putaways.
  • Consolidate partial pallets, raw materials or finished goods in the facility
  • Verify Pack IDs
  • Count products and materials.
  • Lock and unlock doors, open and close the yard gate.
  • Check status of machines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Be able to perform all task and responsabilities of a material handler II.
  • Must be able to properly utilize the Ginder.

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read and write in English.
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be committed to the success of the entire organization.
Minimum Requirements

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must wear Safety Footwear classified as ANZI Z41.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl.
  • May require repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
  • Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures inside vary between hot or cold based on the outside conditions.
  • This is a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be certified to operate a sit-down, counterbalance, reach truck and/or order picker.
  • 1 year experience in performing work in a warehouse that requires the use of various warehouse practices.
  • Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in the plastic bottle industry or in a manufacturing environment, is desired but not required.
