Job summary

FFE Transportation Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable Dockworker for our facility in Tolland, CT. The role involves loading/unloading trailers, handling goods, and maintaining an orderly dock area to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The Dockworker will assist drivers, perform routine forklift inspections, count inventory, and follow established safety procedures. Employment is contingent on background checks and drug screening, with competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• One year forklift operating experience.
• Work any shift, for any of the 7 days of the week, as well as overtime as needed.
• Abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of FFE
• Timely and efficient completion of tasks and responsibilities
• Promote teamwork and cooperative effort

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers safely
• Handle goods and equipment to prevent damage
• Sort and label skids correctly
• Count inventory based on bills of lading/trailer manifests
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading
• Inspect forklift daily
• Maintain a clean dock area
• Stack goods neatly
• Submit reports promptly
• Perform basic arithmetic
• Train new staff on the job
• Load and secure shipments
• Follow safe freight handling procedures
• Other duties as assigned
