Job summary

Saia Inc. is seeking dockworkers to join our team in a role involving loading, unloading, and moving freight with sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling. Some duties may include hostler tasks moving trailers around the yard.

Responsibilities include reading shipping labels, stacking and securing freight with proper dunnage, and adhering to DOT guidelines. Prior dock/warehouse experience is helpful.

Qualifications

• Freight handling experience required or preferred depending on role.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Hazmat training is a plus.
• Previous freight dock or warehouse experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines.
• Read and interpret shipping labels.
• Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
• Secure freight inside the trailer using the appropriate dunnage.
• Other duties as assigned.
