Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Performs load-building, determining weight, composition and placement for balanced, safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows instructions to determine materials to be moved.
• Conveys materials to storage or designated area using carts, dolly, forklift or other device.
• Opens containers and labels items to ensure correct identification.
• Adheres to safety procedures and attends safety meetings; may suggest improvements.
