Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Warehouse Loader in Knoxville, TN to perform routine loading and unloading of materials within yard or site and assemble load packages into trucks for delivery.

The role requires forklift certification, the ability to read work orders, lift up to 80 pounds, and maintain safety practices. You will work in a production/yard environment with exposure to noise and chemicals and may be asked to perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification is required.
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks.
• Knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and secures with strapping or padding.
• Performs load-building by determining weight and placement for safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows instructions to determine materials to move.
• Conveys materials using hand truck, electric dolly or forklift.
• Opens containers and handles items using basic hand tools.
• Attaches tags/labels to ensure correct identification of items.
• Adheres to all safety procedures and participates in safety meetings.
