Job summary

Precision Castparts in Paramount, CA is seeking a Production Engineer to support the design and manufacture of contour forgings through forging process development, tooling design, production support, and technical problem solving. This position works cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Metallurgy, Sales, Maintenance, customers, and outside vendors.

You will collaborate with Quality, Inspection, Production, and other departments to evaluate forging requirements and resolve manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with CAD software and ability to interpret engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments, customers, and vendors.
• Manufacturing, forging, machining, or tooling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply company forging design fundamentals to develop forging processes and associated tooling.
• Provide engineering support throughout the forge shop, including troubleshooting production, tooling, and dimensional issues.
• Work with Quality, Inspection, Production, and other departments to evaluate forging requirements and resolve manufacturing issues.
• Evaluate tooling condition and coordinate tooling rework, repair, and outside processing as required.
• Review engineering drawings, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain engineering drawings, tooling records, purchase orders, and other technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement, process development, and corrective-action activities.
