Job summary

Cornwell Quality Tools Co. is seeking a Forging Hammer Operator to set up and run Bradley and three drop hammers, forging metal parts per work orders with calipers, micrometers and gauges.

You will handle parts from the furnace, operate hammers to shape parts, trim with a punch press, verify dimensions, and perform routine maintenance while upholding safety. Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a forging facility or similar environment.
• Ability to read work routings and use gauges, calipers and micrometers.
• Able to sustain alert concentration on machine operations and perform setups with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to produce quality parts while maintaining minimal scrap material.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Bradley hammer and three drop hammers to forge metal parts according to work order specifications using measuring instruments.
• Place and remove metal parts from the furnace, ensuring proper heating and handling.
• Operate drop hammers to press and shape metal parts to required dimensions with minimal scrap.
• Trim stock to the desired shape and size using a punch press and verify dimensions with gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance on hammers and punch presses to ensure proper operation.
• Keep the work area clean and follow safety protocols.
