Job summary

Shultz Steel in South Gate, CA is seeking an experienced die polisher to finish forging dies, trimmers, and tooling. You will wash, scrape, polish, grind, and sand surfaces with guidance as needed to ensure precise finishes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of related experience, and Crane/Forklift certifications. Strong reading, writing, and communication skills are essential, with strict adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related experience preferred.
• 3–5 years in die finishing or tooling is desirable.
• Must have Shultz Steel certifications: Overhead Crane Operator and Forklift.

Responsibilities

• Polish and grind dies to finish forging dies, trimmers and tooling.
• Perform liquid penetrant inspection and document die condition.
• Identify defects, wear and dies with job numbers; select abrasives.
• Operate grinder to smooth surfaces and ensure proper radii.
• Operate die cleaning tank and support tooling-related duties.
