Job summary

SSP is seeking an experienced Forge Press Operator to produce forged products from hot billets. You will set up, align, and operate forge presses, trim presses, and furnaces, while inspecting parts to print and maintaining a clean, 5S workspace.

The role requires basic blueprint reading, use of measuring tools, and adherence to Lean and safety policies. Prior forging press experience and forklift certification are highly valued, with opportunities for growth within a private, long-standing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• 3+ years setup and operation of forging presses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate forge press per setup sheet.
• Adjust ram as needed.
• Pick up and retrieve dies from pre-heat bench.
• Operate forklift.
• Operate forge press.
• Use tongues to handle hot billets.
• Inspect forged parts to print with instruments.
• Set up and operate trim press as needed.
• Set up and operate furnace.
• Perform PM on presses.
