Responsibilities

• Operate forging presses to shape metal and produce forged parts.
• Coordinate use of shears or saws to cut stock as needed.
• Set up and adjust dies on forging equipment and read standards.
• Monitor equipment and correct minor problems; maintain records.
• Keep work area clean and orderly; follow safety rules.
• Overtime as requested by supervisor; work extended hours as needed.
• Operate furnaces to heat metal prior to forging and load/unload.
• Handle materials, stacking, and material movement in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure proper operation through gauge readings and indicators.
• Maintain focus and physical energy throughout the shift.
