Job summary

Focus, a leader in heavy manufacturing, seeks a Manufacturing Manager to lead day‑to‑day forge, machining, heat treatment, and support operations. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while steering continuous improvement initiatives across multiple departments.

The role requires hands‑on leadership, deep experience in forging and metal forming, and a track record of achieving schedule adherence, cost control, and workforce development in a heavy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
• 7–10 years of manufacturing leadership experience in forging/heavy industrial environments.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience leading multiple departments.
• Experience overseeing forging, machining, and heat treatment operations; production scheduling and workflow management.
• Experience in a unionized environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities across forge operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Oversee: closed-die forging presses, mechanical/hydraulic presses, machining, heat treatment, material handling, secondary finishing.
• Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Partner with Quality and safety teams to ensure standards, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvements.
• Lead supervisors and hourly employees; participate in recruiting, onboarding, evaluations, and succession planning.
• Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen events; monitor metrics and drive data-driven improvements.
