Job summary

Precision Castparts seeks an operator to position material into the forge press and manage the subsequent cooling and trimming processes. Responsibilities include verifying dies, loading material into furnaces, and handling quenching steps as required.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting specifications, and ensuring correct die usage while supporting die setup and teardown activities. Shift work across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd tours is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience operating machine tools, including numerical control and manual lathes, and machining centers.
• Experience using heavy equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, bulldozer.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret specifications, and understand machine instructions.

Responsibilities

• Verifies correct dies are being used.
• Loads material in furnace to be forged and pulls from the furnace and charge into press.
• After removing, air cool, water quench, fan cool or trim as applicable.
• Assists with die set up, tear down, trim operation, checking furnace temperature for correct setting, stenciling of parts, pulling baskets and putting back in quench tank where applicable.
