Job summary

Precision Castparts is seeking an experienced machinist/operator to load materials in furnaces, forge parts, and feed presses. You will assist with die setup, oversee tempering processes, and manage quench operations.

The role emphasizes safe handling of heavy equipment, blueprint interpretation, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Shift flexibility and PPE adherence are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3+ years related experience.
  • Proficiency reading blueprints and specifications.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is beneficial.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

  • Assist with die setup, tear down, trim operation, checking furnace temperature for correct setting, ensure parts are stamped, pulling baskets and putting back in quench tank where applicable.
  • After removing, air cool, water quench, fan cool or trim as applicable.
  • Build blockers, grippers, staging for 14K dies.

Job description

Knowledge & Skills
  • Proficiency in operating a manipulator and positioning materials into the press, ensuring correct die usage.
  • Ability to load materials into furnaces for forging and safely remove them for subsequent cooling or trimming processes.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED and 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Work experience in operating heavy equipment is beneficial.
  • Relevant work experience operating machine tools, including numerical control and manual lathes, and machining centers
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, interpreting specifications, and understanding machine instructions.
  • Experience operating a forklift is preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.

  • 1ST 2ND 3RD Other: : Must be able to work any shift. 1st shift 6am-2pm, 2nd shift 2pm – 10pm, 3rd shift 10pm – 6am
