Job summary

Steigerwaldt Land Services, Inc. is seeking a Forest Inventory Technician to support forest inventories nationwide from our Tomahawk, WI area.

The role is full-time, hourly, non-exempt, with a remote-friendly hybrid work model and significant field work. Travel and weekend work are possible, with duties focused on data collection, tree measurements, GPS plot locations, and collaboration with inventory foresters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with GPS data collection and ESRI GIS software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forest inventory data collection to project specifications.
• Record detailed tree data and dimensions in field software.
• Use sub-meter GPS for plot locations, monumentation, and boundaries.
• Coordinate with property managers regarding access, hazards, and constraints.
• Travel to project sites; some assignments may require extended field work.
