Job summary

JPMorgan Natural Capital in United States, Oregon is offering a 2027 Forestry Field Office Intern position. The fixed-term, full-time internship runs for up to 10 weeks starting June 2027 and provides hands-on experience in timberland asset management, silviculture, inventory, and land stewardship.

You will work outdoors, learn industry best practices, use GIS, GPS, and drone tools, and support sustainability and ESG initiatives across forestry disciplines.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's program in Forestry, Forest Management, Natural Resources, or related field with forestry concentration.
• Basic understanding of forest management, silviculture, timber harvesting practices, and inventory concepts.
• Proficiency with GPS technology and geospatial data applications.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support harvest unit layout, planning, administration, and monitoring activities.
• Assist with silviculture planning, implementation, and regeneration program administration.
• Utilize GIS, GPS, mobile data collection tools, and drone operations.
• Participate in timber cruising, inventory collection, auditing, and regeneration surveys.
• Support road construction, maintenance, and access management activities.
• Assist with environmental stewardship, sustainability, and ESG initiatives.
• Contribute to recreation management and land stewardship projects.
• Monitor field activities and communicate environmental, operational, or safety concerns.
• Collect, organize, and maintain forestry and operational data to support decisions.
• Collaborate with forestry professionals on special projects and business initiatives.
• Perform additional duties and field assignments as needed.
