The Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation seeks a Stewardship Program Manager to coordinate the Forest Stewardship Program and related rural forestry initiatives. You will provide statewide guidance, technical expertise, and administrative support to ensure high-quality landowner assistance and compliance with federal and state requirements.

You will lead grants, cultivate partnerships across agencies and tribes, and oversee program budgets and reporting.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or a related natural resources field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in natural resources or a related field.

Responsabilidades

• Develop program guidance and tools; translate state and federal requirements into clear standards, procedures, and training for field staff.
• Advance statewide forest stewardship priorities and connect projects with funding and technical resources.
• Build and strengthen partnerships with agencies, tribes, universities, and landowner groups to expand access to assistance.
• Administer $3–7 million annually in state and federal grants; oversee funding and subaward processes.
• Coordinate accomplishment reporting, geospatial data, stewardship plan monitoring, and civil rights compliance.
• Supervise and develop program staff and manage contracts and deliverables.
• Represent the program and participate in statewide and regional partnerships.
