Job summary

Colorado State Forest Service, a program of Colorado State University, seeks a Forester to lead forestry and natural resource projects with field and office duties across assigned areas. You will coordinate scopes of work, field plans, estimates, and compliance while delivering technical guidance to landowners and partners.

The role requires travel, occasional irregular hours, and strong customer service skills to support grant programs and community outreach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field.
  • Two (2)+ years professional Natural Resource management experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
  • Ability to hike long distances over steep terrain at high elevations while carrying 35+ lbs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GIS/GPS tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, implementation, and closeout of small- to moderate-complexity forestry and natural resource projects across CSFS program areas.
  • Develop scopes of work, field plans, and technical recommendations; coordinate day-to-day execution and maintain records.
  • Assist with grant and cost-share program delivery, tracking, reporting, and certification of completed work.
