Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s level or higher in forestry, wildlife, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• A strong candidate with a bachelor’s degree in forestry, wildlife, or a closely related field with three years of experience may be considered but must obtain a master’s within seven years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct county-based programming and visits with landowners on forest stewardship practices.
• Deliver education on forest management, wildlife, and related topics to diverse audiences.
• Manage county lands with guidance on timber sales, stewardship plans, and revenue opportunities.
• Promote public awareness of local forests using media and outreach activities.
• Assist statewide programming and design grants-funded initiatives.
• Develop professional development plans and engage in staff training.
