Job summary

PRT Hubbard, based in Hubbard, Oregon, seeks a full-time Forest Seedling Operations Manager to plan, organize, and control daily seedling production. You will lead the growing team, coordinate with the Nursery Manager, and oversee budgeting, scheduling, and cultivation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, or forestry (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in nursery operations with leadership experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to make sound judgments under pressure.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and willingness to learn a proprietary inventory management/shipping system.
• Ability to problem solve and conduct root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Nursery Manager, crop production team and Maintenance Supervisor to achieve cost-effective production of requested quality and quantity.
• Develop and implement nursery operational work plans and cultural plans as set by the crop production team.
• Set production targets, monitor productivity, and analyze planned vs actual results.
• Budget nursery operational activities and coordinate material requirements.
• Lead and supervise the growing team, ensure safety, training, performance, and development.
• Maintain a crop history database and implement risk management and preventive maintenance.
