Job summary

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is looking for individuals to support forest fire prevention and suppression efforts. Successful candidates will be responsible for operating fire suppression equipment and providing forestry assistance.

This role requires obtaining a Class B Commercial Driver License and completing firefighter training. The position entails emergency response duties and a commitment to public safety and education.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must obtain a Class B CDL within three months.
• Must have a Certificate of Compliance as Firefighter.
• Must not have felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Perform forest fire prevention and suppression.
• Operate various fire suppression equipment.
• Provide technical forestry assistance.
• Respond to emergencies as needed.
• Conduct wildfire educational programs.
