The Bureau of Land Management in California's Sacramento area seeks a qualified forester to support development and implementation of forest management plans, assist with timber sale planning, and oversee stand improvement projects in designated districts.

You will use the latest methods for cruise, scale, and appraisal, perform on-ground evaluations of forest programs, and ensure compliance with policies and priorities while working in team environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Forestry or related field with at least 30 semester hours in biological/physical/mathematical sciences or engineering, including at least 24 semester hours in forestry.
• Combination of education and experience acceptable per provided requirements.

Responsabilités

• Interpret field examination data and make recommendations for harvest, post-harvest, and timber stand improvement projects.
• Provide input into forest development budget plans.
• Design, prepare, and administer forest development projects including site preparation and vegetation management.
• Use cruise, scale, and appraisal methods and evaluate or reject adoption.
• Perform on-ground evaluations of forest and woodland products sale program activities for policy compliance.
