Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a District Forester in Burney, CA to manage timberlands across multiple counties. The role involves THP preparation, contract administration for field operations, and collaboration with regulatory agencies.

You will conduct surveys and support reforestation efforts while working both independently and in teams under diverse conditions. The successful candidate will have an RPF license or eligibility, strong knowledge of California forest practices, and

Qualifications

• California Registered Professional Forester license or eligibility via education/work experience.
• Familiarity with California Forest Practice Rules and THP preparation.
• Understanding of logging, road construction, and reforestation operations.
• Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.
• Proficiency with GIS-based software and standard office tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Timber Harvest Plans (THPs) including field work and mapping.
• Administer contracts for field operations and services.
• Conduct botanical, wildlife, archeological, road, and water surveys.
• Collaborate on reforestation activities including planting and site prep.
• Interact with state regulatory agencies and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Perform forestry projects in varied weather and terrain.
