Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections seeks a trained generalist toxicology technologist to work across screening and confirmation in the laboratory. You will handle sample prep, labeling, and reporting, and operate GC/MS and LC/MS with calibration and controls monitoring.

Minimum qualifications include four+ years as a medical technologist or equivalent, with potential credit-hour substitutions. Benefits include retirement, health, and leave provisions for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of professional technical experience as a medical technologist or related field.
• Credits from college may substitute for up to four years of experience at 30 hours per year.
• Shift differentials may apply for certain facilities and hours.

Responsibilities

• Be trained as a generalist technologist in toxicology lab and cover screening and confirmation duties.
• Identify chains of evidence and prepare samples for labeling and reporting.
• Label chains of evidence and test tubes, and prepare samples for biochemical analyzers.
• Operate GC/MS and LC/MS instruments, verify results, and monitor calibrators and controls.
• Maintain logs and inventories, and perform general lab work as required.
