Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Torrance State Hospital, is seeking a Forensic Therapeutic Activities Worker to design and lead therapeutic activities that support patient progress, independence, and rehabilitation within a secure hospital setting.

The role emphasizes activity planning, patient assessment, group leadership, and progress documentation, with a 37.5-hour week from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday–Thursday, and no telework option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related human services field.
• Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with disabilities or an equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Ability to meet PA residency requirements and pass necessary clearances.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement therapeutic activities aligned with individual treatment goals.
• Evaluate patient strengths, needs, and functioning levels to guide involvement.
• Conduct treatment groups, supervise participation, and maintain safety in secure areas.
• Record activity notes, update charts, and share information with the treatment team.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary meetings to support individualized planning.
• Maintain program areas, prepare materials, and foster a positive therapeutic environment.
