Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Torrance State Hospital is seeking a Forensic Therapeutic Activities Worker to design hands-on activities that support patient progress and rehabilitation in a secure setting. You will lead groups, assess patient needs, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to tailor activities to each patient.

This full-time role operates 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday, with no telework option, and requires a bachelor’s degree in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or

Responsibilities

• Design and implement therapeutic activities that support individual treatment goals
• Evaluate patient strengths, needs, and functioning levels to guide program involvement
• Conduct treatment groups, supervise patient participation, and maintain safety within secure areas
• Record activity notes, update charts, and provide information to the treatment team
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and offer observations that support individualized planning
• Maintain program areas, prepare materials, and assist in creating a positive therapeutic environment
