Qualifications

• Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities.
• Bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation or related human services field or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training accepted.
• Applicants may qualify within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development, coordination, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic recreation programs.
• Assess inmate strengths, needs, and functioning levels to set objectives.
• Determine methods to meet therapeutic goals and align activities with other treatment disciplines.
• Conduct therapeutic recreation sessions and provide instruction and support.
• Review participation, document progress, and prepare required reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and support individualized treatment plans.
