Qualifications

  • Citizen or eligible for permanent residency; English proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Minimum age 21 at time of application.
  • Bachelor’s degree in forensic/natural/criminal justice or related field, or current law enforcement employee with CJ knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Perform friction ridge examinations and run national/international databases.
  • Process and document crime scenes, take photographs, collect and preserve evidence.
  • Recognize evidentiary value of tools, ballistics, soils, DNA, fibers, etc.
  • Photograph latent fingerprints and process evidence for analysis.
  • Attend autopsies and photograph phases for court purposes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and generate reports; provide court testimony.
