State of Nevada, through the Division of Public and Behavioral Health's SNAMHS Stein Forensic Unit in Las Vegas, is hiring Forensic Specialists. Trainees will complete a 12-month program, including POST certification and Mental Health coursework, progressing to higher specialist levels with demonstrated competency.

Role combines security and direct client care, with transport, outings, treatment team involvement, data entry, and support for competency restoration and legal processes.

Qualifikationen

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of general work experience in health, mental health, correctional, law enforcement or related setting; OR one year of college coursework plus one year of general work experience.
• Must meet POST requirements and progress to higher level after certification.

Aufgaben

• Support clinical staff by serving as a member of a treatment team to optimize client care and treatment; report behavior and progress.
• Assist in identifying problems, developing treatment plans, documenting progress, revising plans and discharging clients.
• Provide data entry into appropriate databases and/or software as needed.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with clients; orient them to the unit; facilitate group sessions as directed; track progress.
• Operate the control room to ensure facility security; monitor activities via video and alarms; manage staff check-in/out.
• Conduct head counts and special watches; document findings and report issues to supervisor.
• Perform room and body searches to detect contraband and hazards; ensure safety and cleanliness.
