Job summary

Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) seeks Psychological Assistants for the Stein Forensic Hospital in Las Vegas. Under licensed psychologist supervision, you will conduct testing, evaluations, and therapy within inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on competency, risk assessments, and forensic topics.

Incumbents may progress to Licensed Psychologist I upon licensure in Nevada. Typical schedule is 8a-5p, Mon-Fri, with some variable hours and no overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Active doctoral psychology internship agreement and/or completion certificate required at time of application.
• Experience administering and interpreting psychological tests and providing reports.
• Ability to provide crisis intervention and risk assessments within forensic settings.

Responsibilities

• Administer, score and interpret a wide variety of diagnostic tests and write comprehensive reports.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning for patients.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver individual, family and group therapy as part of inpatient/outpatient services.
• Provide expert testimony and court-related evaluations as needed.
• Supervise trainees and collaboratively work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist in program development, grants, and policy procedures.
