Job summary

The Missouri Department of Mental Health is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or LCSW/LMSW-seeking Senior Clinical Case Worker to join the Forensic Mobile Team. This role requires travel to jails, courts, and community settings from a home office in Kansas City, MO.

Base salary varies by role: Senior Clinical Case Worker up to 63,120.05; LCSW up to 78,264; LMSW up to 78,264. Salary may increase with retention pay or other differentials.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Must be pursuing LCSW or LMSW.
• Current Missouri LCSW license.
• Current Missouri LMSW license.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Ability and willingness to work in jails, courtrooms, private residences, and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment, treatment, crisis intervention, and care coordination to individuals with serious mental illness and complex forensic needs.
• Travel to county jails to provide in-person assessments, treatment, competency-related services, and coordination with jail staff.
• Collaborate with judges, attorneys, jail personnel, law enforcement, hospitals, community providers, and other Forensic Mobile Team members.
• Attend court hearings and provide professional testimony regarding treatment, participation, observations, and services when required.
• Conduct home and community visits for individuals released on bond.
• Provide clinical interventions and support services related to competency restoration and treatment engagement.
• Monitor psychiatric symptoms, functioning, treatment participation, risk factors, and community stability.
• Develop individualized treatment plans coordinating psychiatric care, medications, behavioral health treatment, housing, transportation, and benefits.
