Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Forensic Sciences or a related field.
• Alternatively, a Forensic Science certificate is acceptable.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of photography, fingerprint development, evidence handling, and report writing is preferred.
• Strong writing and interpersonal skills; excellent computer skills; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Take photographs of crime scenes, suspects, accidents; cast shoe prints and impressions.
• Handle and fingerprint deceased bodies as appropriate.
• Identify, collect, and preserve evidence; prepare items for lab submission.
• Process scenes for latent fingerprints; assist with crime scene reports and sketches.
• Maintain records with computer entries and written reports.
• Respond to service locations using a crime scene vehicle.
• Learn methods for locating, collecting, and preserving physical evidence.
