Job summary

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office seeks a Law Enforcement Analyst Intern to join the Intelligence Led Policing Unit. You will review and synthesize information from multiple sources to identify crime patterns and emerging trends, and develop reports and bulletins for investigative and operational use.

The ideal candidate is a curious, analytical student with an interest in criminal justice, intelligence analysis, or research.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s level program.
Minimum 2.5 G.P.A.
Minimum 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Flexibility and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data from agency sources to identify locations with increased criminal activity and suggests causes and solutions.
Prepares oral briefings, written reports, and graphical depictions showing crime patterns and trends.
Assists in reviewing information from internal and external sources to detect crime patterns and relay information to investigators.
Uses databases to review offender status and identify individuals of interest for investigation.
Evaluates information to predict capabilities and vulnerabilities of criminal groups and suggests investigative strategies.
