Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Forensic Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for patients affected by crime and trauma. The role requires collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, applying evidence-based nursing practices, and ensuring quality care across life spans.

Essential responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, coordinating care plans, administering medications safely, and supporting continuous quality improvement across hospital facilities in the Mercy

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (required).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact.
• IAFN SANE-A and SANE-P certifications (obtained within one year).
• GFN-C/AFN-C certification (obtained within one year).

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes data, creates and implements a plan of care, and evaluates treatment.
• Administers medications safely, in line with state practice and policy.
• Serves as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the department.
