Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a per diem Forensic Psychologist to join our Behavioral Health Services team in Massachusetts. You will provide expert forensic evaluations and consultations for court clinics and statutory assessments across the Commonwealth.

The role requires an active MA psychology license (or eligibility), DFP designation or ability to obtain, and reliable transportation. Must be able to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Active licensed Psychologist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe (e.g. having passed the EPPP, or holding a Psychology license in another state) required.
• Designated Forensic Professional (DFP) or ability to obtain.
• Current/valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statutory evaluations and provide consultation to the court.
• Assist in evaluating needs for emergency hospitalization and other court-related assessments.
• Support court clinics across the Massachusetts legal system with forensic evaluations.

Forensic Health Services (FHS), a Centurion company, is proud to be a provider of forensicmental health services to the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health. The FHS teamprovides adult court clinics services to many of the Massachusetts Trial and SuperiorCourts across the Commonwealth. Our team is looking to add a per diem Forensic Psychologist to our team for coverage.

As part of the Court Clinic team, Forensic Psychologists provide consultation to the courtand help to facilitate statutory evaluations for individuals with mental illness andsubstance misuse concerns that are brought before the Court on criminal and/or civilmatters. FHS, Forensic Psychologists fulfill the statutory obligations of the Department of Mental Health under MGL c. 123 which include, but are not limited to:

• Evaluation of the Need for Emergency Hospitalization
• Competence to Stand Trial or Criminal Responsibility Screening Evaluations
• Evaluation of the Need for Hospitalization of Mentally-Ill Prisoners
• Determination of the Mental Condition of Witnesses
• Evaluation of the Need for Commitment of Substance Abusers
• Aid in Sentencing Evaluations

Qualifications

• Active licensed Psychologist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe (e.g. having passed the EPPP, or holding a Psychology license in another state) required
• Designated Forensic Professional (DFP) or ability to obtain
• Current/valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Experience working with court-involved criminal defendants preferred
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.

We offer competitive compensation ($112,000-$156,000) based on experience and DFP designation to our per diem team members.
