Job summary

Unity Recovery is seeking a Re-entry Support Services Supervisor to lead peer and community-based recovery and re-entry programming. You will supervise peer staff, coordinate scheduling, and engage partners to expand reach and impact, while modeling recovery-oriented practices.

The role emphasizes mentors, navigation support, and authentic peer relationships to promote person-centered recovery planning and sustained recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

  • PA Certified Recovery Specialist or Certified Peer Specialist with at least three years in community-based recovery settings and at least one year supervising peer staff.
  • High degree of technological literacy or willingness to acquire these skills.
  • Background checks may be required for staff working with youth or in criminal justice settings.
  • Reliable, insured personal transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direct supervision of assigned peer specialist staff.
  • Facilitate daily shift debriefs, weekly individual supervision, and monthly group supervision.
  • Deliver peer-based support to individuals seeking or in recovery.
  • Build and manage relationships with community and governmental partners to extend impact.
  • Handle scheduling, data tracking, monthly reports, and digital communications.
  • Read and interpret financial reports and advise the Executive Director based on findings.
  • Maintain ethical conduct and adhere to recovery principles and codes.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by leadership.

The Re-entry Support Services Supervisor will provide direct leadership and supervision over peer- and community-based recovery and/or re-entry support programming and services delivered by peer specialist staff at Unity Recovery. The PSS will work under the guidance of their assigned Program Director and local Site Director to facilitate the engagement of individuals who may benefit from peer support services. The PSS will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate, navigator, and motivator to peer staff, and at times, individuals in or seeking recovery in an effort to promote person-centered recovery planning and goal realizations, which may include reductions in harm from substance use and sustaining long-term recovery. The PSS must demonstrate an ability to manage all aspects of peer programming, including staff and programming scheduling, one-on-one and group supervision, partner relationships, and development of new programming as needed. The PSS should consciously share personal lived experiences as appropriate, develop authentic peer-to-peer relationships, and have an understanding of and respect for each individual’s unique path to recovery and/or community re-entry

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PA Certified Recovery Specialist, Certified Peer Specialist, or other applicable credential with at least three years of experience working in community-based recovery settings, and at least one year of experience supervising peer staff in a community-based setting. A Certified Recovery Specialist Supervisor credential or completion of Certified Peer Specialist Supervisor training is highly desirable.
  • High degree of technological literacy, or willingness to acquire these skills as part of employment
  • Background checks may be required for staff that will work with youth, inside criminal justice settings, or other settings as determined by the Executive Director.
  • Reliable and insured personal transportation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Provide oversight and direct supervision of assigned peer specialist staff.
  • Facilitate daily shift debriefs, as well as weekly individual supervision, and monthly group supervision.
  • Provide peer-based support services to individuals contemplating or actively seeking help with behavioral health recovery and/or community-based re-entry as needed.
  • Engage in relationship building and management with community and governmental partners as needed to further the reach and impact of peer support services and programming;
  • Administrative duties include peer support services scheduling (e.g., center weekly schedule), staff schedules, data tracking and entry, monthly service engagement reports, and regular digital communication via digital platforms.
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports and make service and programming recommendations to the Executive Director based upon this information.
  • Conduct self in an ethical manner by adhering to the PCB codes of ethics.
  • Follow and adhere to the recovery bill of rights.
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director and Site Director.
COMPENSATION:
  • COMPENSATION: $46,000– $56,000 salary range. Includes optional company paid health, dental, life, and vision benefits; 401k with company match after 1 year of service; accrued PTO; and other benefits as designated by the organization.
