The Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Tidewater District seeks an experienced forensic pathologist to join a three-pathologist staff. The Assistant Medical Examiner will lead death investigations, perform postmortem exams, supervise staff, and provide expert testimony.

Educational duties include teaching fellows and medical students; occasional travel; and participation in research. Virginia license and ABP forensic pathology board certification required.

Formación

• Graduate of approved medical school with postgraduate training in anatomic and forensic pathology.
• Board certification in forensic pathology by the American Board of Pathology and Virginia medical licensure.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication; ability to teach and supervise.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct death investigations and postmortem examinations; perform ~250 medicolegal autopsies per year.
• Provide consultations, testify in court, and supervise staff and administrative duties.
• Educate forensic pathology fellows, medical students, and public safety officers; participate in committees.

MD/DO; board-certified in forensic pathology; Virginia license
