Job summary

Foundation Health Partners’ Fairbanks Memorial Hospital in Alaska is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Services Department, including Forensic Nursing support. You will provide evidence-based nursing care in a trauma center setting, assess patient needs, develop discharge plans, and collaborate with law enforcement and advocates to ensure patient-centered care.

The role emphasizes independence, teamwork, and compassionate communication.

Qualifications

• Current Alaska RN license.
• Associate's degree in nursing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required.
• Creative thinking, prioritization, and problem solving skills.
• Clear verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care with discharge planning and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Implement the plan of care with direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision.
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and adjust the plan as needed.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure timely communication.
• Promote evidence-based practice and participate in unit leadership and staff development.
