Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a dedicated Forensic Nurse Examiner (PRN) to respond to requests for forensic medical examinations and evidence collection. The role supports occasional coverage at satellite locations (King Street or Cornwall) and requires 48 hours of work over an 8-week period.

The position involves responding to subpoenas, contributing to research projects, and delivering holistic, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN experience minimum 6 months.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Licensed or eligible for Virginia RN licensure.

Responsabilités

• Uses standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery with patient/family communication and team collaboration.
• Provides safe, holistic, patient-centered care and arrives within defined timeframes for each request.
• Responds to subpoenas on sexual assault cases examined as an SANE.
• Participates in sexual assault/violence research projects; assists with lectures and presentations.
• Develops and adheres to policies and protocols; contributes to documentation and evaluation.
• Supports patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end-of-life decisions.
• Collaborates with other disciplines and performs other duties as assigned.
