Job summary

Responsibilities include collaboration with government partners and presenting findings at CODIS-related meetings. The candidate should have active clearance and 3+ years in population genetics, with experience in kinship, paternity, and mixture calculations.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance.
• 3+ years’ experience in human population genetics.
• Strong understanding of Popstats calculations: Forensic Single Sample, Mixture, Kinship, Parentage, Partial Match, Match Estimation.
• Ability to review Popstats FSD for accuracy, clear explanations, improvement suggestions to CODIS.
• Experience in creating whitepapers, providing recommendations to government.
• Collaborative experience publishing scholarly articles on CODIS functionality.
• Verification of statistical and scientific validity of software changes.
• Presentation experience at CODIS conference, state administrator meetings, SWGDAM or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in forensic science, population genetics, forensic DNA likelihood ratios, allelic dependencies, and population substructures.
• Review Population Statistics (Popstats) to ensure calculations are accurate and contain proper caveats within CPI and CPE descriptions.
• Provide white papers, guidance, and recommend enhancements to kinship, paternity and mixture calculations; validate likelihood ratios.
• Support emergent issues and collaborate with ECS and government to publish white papers; verify validity of software changes.
• Present at CODIS Conference, CODIS State Administrator meetings, SWGDAM, or similar.
