Job summary

The City of Oklahoma City’s Police Department laboratory seeks a DNA Forensic Scientist to perform DNA analysis, evidence examination, and CODIS entry. You will work within the Investigations Division’s Laboratory and Support Services Section, interfacing with law enforcement and the courts.

Must hold a biology/chemistry/forensic science degree and have at least five years of authorized DNA casework experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or forensic science.
• Five years’ authorized DNA casework experience in a accredited lab.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform DNA analyses and microscopic examinations.
• Enter profiles into the CODIS database.
• Prepare reports and maintain lab records.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Appear in court as an expert witness.
