Job summary

Qualifications

  • Formal education in arithmetic and English literacy as described in the qualifications.
  • 12 months experience in a forensic laboratory, biology, medical office laboratory, chemistry laboratory, law enforcement, or legal environment.
  • 6 months training or experience in inventory control (receiving, storing and dispensing).

Responsibilities

  • Process and preserve evidence and property submissions ensuring chain of custody.
  • Document evidence intake in the laboratory information management system.
  • Review requests for destruction or disposal of evidence for accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with courts and prosecutors regarding evidence results, submissions, testing and fees.
  • Testify in court regarding evidence integrity and chain of custody.
  • Participate in projects to streamline evidence intake procedures.
