Baltimore City is seeking a Crime Laboratory Technician II to investigate crime scenes and collect physical evidence for laboratory examination and court presentation.

The position requires a bachelor's degree in criminalistics or related sciences, two years of experience handling criminal evidence, and a valid Maryland driver’s license. Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and report on-call during all hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminalistics, chemistry, biology, physics or related science.
• Two years of experience in the detection, collection and preservation of criminal evidence for court use.
• Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management.
• Provisional driver's license or learner permits are not acceptable.
• Must upload a copy of your valid driver's license with application at time of applying.

Responsibilities

• Investigates crime scenes and collects physical evidence for lab examination and court presentation.
• Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
• Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior.
• Employees work rotating shifts and are on-call 24/7.
