Job summary

Gateway Foundation, Inc. in Malone, FL seeks a Cognitive Counselor to join our correctional healthcare team. The role focuses on developing cognitive intervention plans, leading group sessions, and documenting client progress.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with a starting hourly wage around $27.34, based on experience. Required is a Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or psychology, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work or psychology is required.
• Master's degree preferred for advancement or specialization.
• Experience in a forensic counseling setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cognitive intervention plans and conduct group educational sessions.
• Document intervention plans, evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Develop educational programs on thinking for change and life skills.
• Communicate with parole officers and report on client progress.
• Provide support, intervention, direction and conflict resolution to clients and families.
