Job summary

Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital in Holyoke, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Forensic Unit (Assessment and Evaluation Unit). The role is PRN with 8-hour shifts, offering an hourly rate range of $42.55 to $57.45.

The RN will assess and care for patients, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a secure, therapeutic environment. Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS are required or obtained within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Behavioral Health, Psychiatric Nursing, Corrections, or Forensic Nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patients' physical and behavioral health status and respond to changes.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Support a safe, therapeutic environment through de-escalation and crisis intervention.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
