Job summary

ncgCARE in Raleigh, NC is hiring a Forensic ACT Registered Nurse to deliver medical and psychiatric care to individuals with serious mental illness involved in the criminal justice system. You will administer medications, monitor health, provide crisis intervention, and coordinate care with law enforcement, courts, probation/parole, and correctional health providers.

The role emphasizes forensic treatment planning, risk assessment, reentry support, and seamless community reintegration.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current NC RN license.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire; CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and manage medications for people with mental health and substance use needs.
• Monitor clients’ health and respond to mental health or other urgent crises.
• Coordinate care with law enforcement, courts, probation/parole, and correctional services.
• Support clients returning to the community and connect them with ongoing services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and documentation per regulatory standards.
