Job summary

The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (PAO) seeks a Forensic Accountant to join the Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Team within the Economic Crimes and Wage Theft Division in Seattle. The MDT is funded through 2029 with potential extension, and the role supports investigations, summarizing financial data, and preparing exhibits for trial.

Required are a 4-year degree, CFE certification, and strong GAAP knowledge, with advanced Excel/PowerPoint/ScanWriter skills and court testimony ability.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years of forensic accounting experience with an emphasis on fraud-related investigations.
• CFE certification is required or candidate in process of obtaining CFE credentials.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial investigation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist local law enforcement and Adult Protective Services investigators with financial investigations.
• Review materials to determine additional investigation needs; coordinate financial aspects of investigations.
• Create financial summaries and analyses using bank records and income data.
• Prepare cases for trial with charts, diagrams, and exhibits; testify as needed in court.
• Conduct outreach and training to local law enforcement.
• Participate in Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Team meetings.
• Perform related duties and PAO equity work as required.
