Job summary

VCI Construction is seeking a Telecom Aerial Foreman to supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on each job site.

You will lead a crew, provide on-site guidance, and be ready to travel for storm response on short notice, while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• DOT physical exam clearance and valid medical card.
• Minimum 3 years of related telecom or construction experience.
• Pole climber certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems while ensuring safety and code compliance.
• Operate and supervise use of bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators.
• Maintain safe work areas and manage traffic flow around the job site.
• Lead by example, provide guidance to crew members, and ensure productivity.
• Travel for storm response on short notice as required.
• Complete daily work orders and safety checks.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators
• Ensure work areas are safe and that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Foreman Telecom Aerial is $27.00 - $32.00.
